Description
AOD-9604 (CAS 221231-10-3) is a synthetic peptide fragment corresponding to amino acid residues 176–191 of human growth hormone (hGH). It was designed to retain the lipolytic (fat-reducing) activity of hGH while eliminating its growth-promoting and insulin- like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) modulating effects. The peptide’s sequence — Tyr-Leu-Arg-Ile-Val-Gln-Cys-Arg-Ser-Val-Glu-Gly-Ser-Cys-Gly-Phe — confers a molecular weight of approximately 1,815 g/mol. Preclinical studies in rodent and cell models demonstrated that AOD-9604 can enhance lipid metabolism, stimulate lipolysis, and inhibit lipogenesis, primarily through β-adrenergic receptor-mediated and mitochondrial pathways. Importantly, these effects occur independently of IGF-1 elevation, distinguishing it mechanistically from full-length hGH
